Alice Annie

Alice Annie is from a family of four,
if you count the cat there's one more.
Bobby Becky is her sister's name,
sometimes they play the checkers game.

One day when the phone was ringing,
you couldn't hear it for their singing.
They both go to the same school,
and enjoy swimming in the pool.

Alice Annie was a great swimmer,
she did her best and was a winner.
Mom and Dad took them on a long trip,
also told them they didn't want no lip.

They went to visit at Grandma's house,
and while there they saw a mouse.
Alice Annie wished they'd brought their cat,
it would've ate the big mouse and got fat.

Baby Abernathy

We all are anxiously waiting to see,
if you're a boy or a girl baby Abernathy.
You're a few days past the due date,
so I guess you know you're already late.

You're probably comfortable and don't want to come out,
but your Mother has been ready and is about to shout.
The Grandparents can't wait to hold you in their arms,
and I'm sure you'll show off with all your charms.

Your sister Renee hopes you are a sister,
but Grandma said, "it may be a mister."
I'm sure Renee will love you regardless,
for you'll be tiny and so harmless.

So for now we are waiting come what may,
when we get the phone call we'll be on our way.
We thank the Lord for what he has done in our lives,
for He knows what is best and is very wise.

Jerry If You Please

There was a little mouse,
running loose in our house.
Jerry if you please,
set a trap with some cheese.

Watching TV we heard the trap,
the poor little mouse got a bad rap.
Not knowing if there were more yet,
again the trap he did set.

Would you believe less than an hour,
another little mouse came to devour.
When he bit down to take a bite,
he was trapped ever so tight.

It is so frigid outside tonight,
they're searching something for their diet.
In the morning we'll have to see,
did we get two or did we get three.

Firefighter Fannie

Firefighter Fannie is one of the best,
she's from Illinois in the Midwest.
She wears all the gear that firefighters wear,
and in her helmet she tucks her hair.

Firefighter Fannie goes to some schools,
teaching boys and girls on fire safety rules.
If you get on fire--it's STOP-DROP and ROLL,
or in a house fire it's STAY DOWN LOW.

If your house should catch on fire, run,
get out fast, go to a neighbors and call 9-1-1.
Stay at a neighbors til help arrives,
so they may go in and save some lives.

When flames are shooting high in the sky,
in the fire truck sirens wailing they will fly.
Sometimes Sparky the fire dog goes too,
for he is trained on just what to do.

Franklin Freddy

Franklin Freddy was a sittin' and a wishin',
that him and his Daddy would go fishin'.
One time they went down by a brook,
and Daddy showed how to bait the hook.

They had lots of fun the two of them,
sometimes they would even swim.
Franklin Freddy had this wish,
that he'd catch the biggest fish.

They'd always take a picnic lunch,
so when they got hungry they could munch.
Franklin Freddy would throw in his line,
and sit on the bank for a long, long time.

When out of the blue he got his bite,
and he pulled and pulled with all his might.
He surely had caught the biggest fish,
Franklin Freddy had got his wish.

Zelda Zoe

Zelda Zoe walked on her tippy toe,
as she would walk to and fro.
She was just a little tot,
but she sure got around a lot.

Zelda Zoe was followed around,
by their little puppy a beagle hound.
Everywhere she ventured to go,
along beside her was "Mr. Joe."

Zelda Zoe would take an afternoon nap,
sometimes on her Mommy's lap.
Mr. Joe was never very far away,
he waited for her to awake and play.

Zelda Zoe and her friend Mr. Joe,
liked playing outside in the snow.
You could see them side by side,
on a sled as they would slide.

Zeke Zak

Zeke Zak was on a baseball team,
and to play in the world series was his dream.
He really was very good at the bat,
he'd grab the bat and adjust his hat.

Zeke Zak waited for the pitcher to throw the ball,
when he hit it way up and over the wall.
He ran around to all the bases,
and looked in the crowd for familiar faces.

Zeke Zak definitely made a home run,
then it was another teammate's turn.
His team won the game that day,
and many more that month of May.

Zeke Zak was hungry after playing so hard,
so his parents charged pizza on their card.
All his friends were invited to come too,
when it comes to liking pizza most kids do.

Barney Bart

Barney Bart was in a go-cart race,
and wore big goggles on his face.
His cart was painted red, white and blue,
and on it also was a big number two.

Barney Bart tried hard to win the race,
he was going at a real fast pace.
This cart pulled up close beside him,
and sure enough it was his friend Jim.

Barney Bart and Jim were neck to neck,
when all of a sudden they had a wreck.
Thank goodness they weren't hurt,
but the winner of the race was their friend Burt.

Barney Bart was very unhappy and sad,
but was consoled by his Mother and Dad.
He was determined to fix up his cart,
and the winner next time may be Barney Bart.

Eugene Eddie

Eugene Eddie's family had lots of money,
they even had a maid that was very funny.
She was really fun to have around,
cleaned lots of houses in their town.

She always sang when she was cleaning,
for she knew soon she'd be leaving.
Eugene Eddie liked dear Mrs. Custer,
he helped her with her feather duster.

One day he decided to shake a rug,
and out tumbled a little biddy bug.
The bug fell in a crack in the floor,
and Mrs. Custer swept it out the door.

Eugene Eddie cried in fright,
she picked him up and held him tight.
He was a little scared and shook,
til she sat down and read him a book.

Dougie Dewey

Dougie Dewey was just a little guy,
really no more than three feet high.
He rode his bike and pedaled fast,
he made sure he wasn't last.

Everyday he rode to school,
to make sure he'd be no fool.
Dougie Dewey made the honor roll,
studied hard with heart and soul.

His folks were proud to say the least,
invited friends over and had a feast.
Dougie Dewey was a smart little guy,
always told the truth and never would lie.

He lived in the country on a farm,
helped with chores and did no harm.
Mommy and Daddy were proud of the little guy,
for he was surely the apple of their eye.
