A Poem for Kristi and Rachel
by Shelby M. Forrest

Two girls, now in their senior year, are soon to graduate.
They have become the best of friends, the bond of friendship great.

Rachel and Kristi have had great fun, and most of it together.
Their friendship is of sturdy stuff, and any storm can weather.

Both girls know each needs private time apart from one another
To always keep their friendship fresh and tend it not to smother.

With her horse alone will Rachel ride, and softball Kristi play
But together they spend a lot of time on almost every day.

In the space of time they have been friends, each one has learned to care
For what the other thinks and does, and with her hardships share.

One common trait that binds the girls is the laughing that they do
They laugh because they're happy with a friendship strong and true.
