A Poem for Melissa
by Shelby M. Forrest

Melissa likes to sing and dance,
and since she's only nine,
Some day on Broadway she may be
As part of a chorus line.

Melissa's little brother does
not like to dance and sing,
But he can kick a soccer ball
And at a baseball swing.

Melissa is nine and Christian six.
They're just three years apart.
But she will always be in front.
Because of an early head start.
