On Roxanne's Seventh Birthday
by Shelby M. Forrest

This poem is written for little Roxanne
'Tis written on a scroll.
Whenever she wants the poem to read,
The scroll she must unroll

She is going to get a magic doll,
A dressed up doll to keep
In the doll clothes are pajamas,
So the doll with her can sleep.

The magic in her Roxanne doll
Will let her change its hair
To red or brown or even black,
To leave it dark or fair.

And if her own hair she would change
To redhead, blond or brunette,
She can hold her magic doll and wish
And that is what she'll get.
