The Little Ballerina
If you visit the local dance school you will see
A petite ballerina who is named Stephanie.
You may hear her tap dance to a tune that you know
Then up on her twinkling toes she will go.
Tap tippedy, tappedy, clickedly click
Her movements are agile, quite active and quick
Then the music grows softer, and gently she flows
Across the dance floor on her strong, nimble toes.
Her long hair is brown, and her big eyes are, too.
So Stephanie, brown is the color for you.
As a Brownie Girl Scout you will wear some brown dresses,
Which perfectly blend with your brown eyes and tresses.
Her doggie is Cha Chi, and Cha Chi's no fool.
She won't read in Latin, so she can't go to school.
From her house in New Jersey to the Long Island Sound.
With Grandma on weekends Stephanie will be found.

A Poem for Amber
Amber is a three year old,
And Baby is her cat.
They always romp and play so hard -
Neither will ever get fat.
She has lots of baby dolls
Sitting there on a shelf.
And she loves each and every one
'Cause she's a doll herself.
When Amber's with her baby dolls,
It's hard to pick her out.
She looks just like a baby doll.
Of that there is no doubt.
With children Amber likes to play
She loves to be around them.
And when you hear her laugh and squeal,
You know that she has found them.

The Steam Train's Coming 'Round the Bend
In a sleepy little mountain town
On a hazy day in June
The train depot was alive with folks
'Cause the train would be there soon.
This "dinosaur" was the only train
That stopped in the little town
The diesels couldn't make the grades -
Just too many ups and downs.
On a scheduled day once every month
A loud 'toot, toot' will send
Nearly all the people in town to watch
As the train puffs round the bend.
The steam shoots high into the sky
As the fireman throws on wood,
Once again, the train has made the grade
(As we always knew it would.)
Excitement displayed by the people show
Each visit has made their day
And tends to prove an important point
The steam train's here to stay.

A Poem for Christian, the Pitcher
Christian wrote a school project
He needs a poem, too.
So Christian, here's a poem now
That's written just for you.
A fifth grade boy young Christian is
His age is now eleven
And he's been playing softball since
(I think) the age of seven
He likes the game of soccer, too
And he just loves to swim,
If he could have his druthers, though
Softball's the game for him.
BeBe is his Shih Tzu dog
All white, with spots of tan.
When Christian throws a softball pitch,
She is his greatest fan.
She yaps and barks at every pitch,
And though she's very sweet,
She always tries to take a nip
At opposing players' feet.
But when the winter comes around,
And snowflakes you can see.
BeBe likes to stay inside
When Christian goes to ski.

A Love for God, a Love for Others
Shelby is seventeen years of age
His brother, Jordan, fourteen
But much in common the brothers have
In how their lives are seen.
They are both involved in baseball,
And a love for cars they share,
That God is present in their lives
Both boys are quite aware.
In Student Council, Bible Quiz Team,
Music, and Youth Alive
Involvement in a number of things,
Toward love of life they strive.
A love for people, with love for God
Is shared by both the brothers
For a love of God cannot exist
Without a love for others.
(see John 1:4-21)

Loves playing peek-a-boo.

Elmo and Winnie the Pooh.
So come on to his birthday bash,
Join in the frolic and fun,
'Cause this is Nicholas' only chance
To celebrate Birthday One.

To Carter, With Love, From Mom
Dear Carter, handsome little man
When you arrived, I knew
An emptiness within my heart
Had now been filled by you.
Your laughter, like the song of birds,
Has brought me peace and joy.
God has blessed me with His gift -
My precious little boy.
My love for you, like a candle's flame
Will burn with a steady glow.
Throughout all time it cannot fade,
And ne'er will cease to grow.

A Poem for Kelly the Poet
Kelly would like a poem writ
About what she can do.
With Kalie, her kitten, she likes to play,
And volleyball she likes , too.
In many hobbies she could delve -
First one thing, then another.
But she does spend a lot of time
Just fighting with her brother.
She has an older sister, who,
Has now reached "sweet sixteen"
With a little brother of eleven years,
Kelly is the in-between.
An accomplished writer of verse is she,
This muse of thirteen years.
Published already are five of her poems
That the public sees and hears.

A Poem for Alli
Alli has asked that a poem be writ
With several possible options
But Alli, I think, would really like
A poem about adoption.
Adoption allows for parents to choose
A child for their very own.
A child who might be abandoned,
Unwanted and left alone.
However, whatever the reason might be,
That prompts the adoptive selection,
Such a child, now wanted and deeply loved,
Is sheltered with love and affection.
For either natural or adoptive child,
Filial love is ever the same
And true love holds no importance
To a bloodline or a name.
