by Shelby M. Forrest When Stacy was only an infant child, Her mother and father had parted. Her father went away and remarried And then a new family he started. Stacy was just over sixteen months When Bonnie made appearance on earth A little half-sister now Stacy did have When the mother of Bonnie gave birth. Stacy and Bonnie by the same father were sired But they each had a different mother. So the two little girls were then destined to live Their lives far apart from each other. By the time that Stacy was twelve years old And Bonnie was only ten Only twice in contact the girls had been, And were never together again. And now, after twenty-five years have elapsed, The long endured silence has broken And for the first time, open contact was made. To each other the sisters have spoken. Bonnie with great expectation has said, "We now can erase all our fears. We cannot re-live all the time we have lost, But before us lie many good years." "After twenty-five years of uncertainty Time tends faded mem'ries to hide. But I know I have found a real soul-mate One in whom I now can confide." A tightly closed door has been opened anew Open for each to come in And as pleasant mem'ries they start to create A relationship new will begin. |
