Paper Butterflies

What you need:

Round coffee filters (only the round ones will work)
Clothespins
Paint
Markers
Pipe cleaners
Googley eyes

What you do:

Flatten out the coffee filters and decorate them with the paint and markers. After they dry, scrunch up the middle and pinch them in a clothespin. Round out the wings and you have a beautiful butterfly! For more detail you can add pipe cleaners for antennae and glue on googley eyes.

Gift in a Roll

Paper towel or wax paper rolls (use the empty tubes)

Small gift (pens, pencils, jewellery, candy, a small poster or picture, etc.)

Small plastic bag or ziploc or sandwich bag

Ribbon, wrapping paper, stickers

Put gift in plastic bag. Roll bag small enough to fit into paper tube.

If the gift is small, you can stuff the ends of the tube with tissue paper or paper towel

Cut wrapping paper large enough to wrap around the roll but longer than the tube (tissue paper is easier to use)

Tie the ends closed with ribbon. Ribbon can be curled or you can add stickers, or glue on small wrapped candies.

Pencil Holders

You will need an empty vegetable can.   Clean it and remove the label.
Have your parents smooth out all the rough edges from the lid.

You also need paint, glue, ribbon, and any photos you would like to apply. Paint your can any colors you would like.

Once your can is dry, you can glue the ribbon around the top of your can. Now you can decorate your can anyway you would like.   Have fun!

1 Tablespoons Oil
2 teaspoons Cream of Tarter

Personalized Bookmarks

colored construction paper
stickers
ribbon
laminate sheets
photos markers

Cut a piece of construction paper in the size you want your bookmark. Color with markers, write a poem, or a short note about the person you are giving the bookmark to.

Decorate with stickers, your favorite photos, or magazine cut-outs that reflect the recipient's interests. (use a SMALL dab of white glue.) Cut 2 pieces of lamination paper to cover your bookmark, leaving an extra 1/4" around the edges.

Peel the backing off of ONE piece of laminate and carefully lay the bookmark, back-side UP, in the center. Peel the second piece and fit exactly over the FRONT of bookmark. (If the edges don't match up perfectly, just trim with scissors.) Punch hole in top of bookmark (preferably with a hole-puncher) and tie a small section of pretty ribbon to the hole.
