KATIE

I'm Stevi Ann's twin sister
And Katie is my name
I'm eight years old, and so is she
Of course, we are the same

I love to climb the tallest trees
and ride my bike all day
I wish I had a lovely horse
So we could ride away

We'd gallop on a Moonbeam
Then rest upon a star
And gently trot back home again
Who'd guess we'd been so far?

MATTHEW

I'm Matthew and I'm ten years old
I've got a special pet
A Pygmy goat called Wilby
The best you've ever met

I have two pretty sisters
They're quite okay - for girls
But I prefer ole Wilby
He don't care for frills and curls

When I grow I'd like to travel
Not by bike nor car nor plane
The most exciting thing would be
To ride upon a train!

ALLISON

I'm Allison, I'm twelve years old
I chatter on the phone
I have a dog called Ruby
She is all my very own

We hang around together
'cos she is one real smart hound
And so wherever Ruby is
That's where I will be found

I listen to the 'Back Street Boys'
When I'm not playing ball
Ruby likes to run and play
But comes whene'er I call

We have such fun together
Our happiness won't end
And as I'm getting older
I'll still love my doggy friend!

FOR TY

In silver and purple
The Wildcats play ball
Eight year old Ty
Played first year with them all
He loves going to school
And he loves to play sport
He does very well
In the lessons he's taught
He's got a new bike
And with Ruby, his pup.
They'll healthily, happily
Both soon grow up!

FOR STEVI ANN

Light and bright and beautiful
The butterfly drifts by
A vivid splash of colour
Against a clear blue sky

Bright and light and beautiful
So delicate and fair
The ballerina dances
And she seems to float on air

This world is such a wondrous place
That's filled with precious things
Nature gives us colours
And with joy the whole earth sings!

CHANDLER

Golden haired cherub, content in his cot
Gurgling and smiling, a precious wee tot
Chandler Aaron James Flaherty
You're everything that we had hoped you would be
Mummy and Daddy and Grandparents too
All love you and carefully watch over you
Each year as you grow, you will quite firmly be
A greatly loved part of our close family!

Welcome to our World!

LOGAN

When you're young
and very small
everything around
seems tall
but as you're growing
life will teach
how to get things
out of reach
In school the lessons
that you learn
will help you get
a job to earn
a salary
so by and by
you can reach up
to the sky
and gradually
become a part
of all the things
that, at the start,
seemed so remote
and faraway
now you can reach things
everyday
reach for the stars
reach for the moon
you're growing up
You'll be there soon!

VOVO

My grandfather, my special friend
Always so kind to me
I miss our times together
And our visits to the sea

So very patiently you made
Furniture for my doll
So many stories you did tell
I listened, loved them all

We went out walking in the park
Took food to feed the swan
All these things I miss so much
Because you now are gone

The special magic that you had
Lives right here in my heart
My Grandfather, I loved you so
Of you, I am a part

So if I feel a litle sad
I'll think of you, and smile
For all the love you gave to me
Makes my whole life worthwhile!

For Karli's birthday February 8th

Miss Karli is a birthday girl
She'll soon be five years old
On Sunday, February 6th
A party she will hold
With Mummy, Daddy, Grandma
And all her cousins too
Mary Kate and Ashley
They hope they will see you!
There'll be music, dancing, singing
With many games to play
And lots of fun for everyone
On Miss Karli's birthday!

CIERRA ROSE

In our house we have a treasure
It's the rarest thing on earth
Surpassing gold and jewels
Just one year ago, at birth
God sent to us an angel
Into our tender care
A beautiful, sweet angel
And we thank the Lord in prayer
Her blue eyes shine with happiness
She's perfectly content
Her smile is bright as sunshine
And she's truly heaven sent
There's Drake and there is Harley
Her two dogs who never bite
They guard her and they keep her safe
All through the long, dark night
In our house we have a treasure
And her name's CIERRA ROSE
We'll love her and we'll tend her
As each year our treasure grows!

Poem for 12 yr old Ken

Hello young Ken
I can bark like a hen
I can also miouw like a goat
If it's magic you want
Then it's magic you'll get
As I fly overhead in my boat!

So you play basketball
But you're not really tall
I don't think that matters a lot
Keep your eye on the ball, to the game, give your all
Show the world all the talent you've got!

I see you play drum
Well now, that's going some
I imagine the noise that you make
Will vibrate round the globe, like a fast moving strobe
Everybody will rattle and shake!

Then you say you like art
I guess that's really smart
For all life is art, of a kind
Music is art, and all words play a part
In the harmony there you will find!

I've some magic for you
Grow up strong, grow up true
Keep your heart pure and honest always
Let the light in your eyes, shine with love, show you're wise
Then young Ken, you'll walk tall, all your days!

CHRISTA

My most precious daughter
My bright, shining star
So tender and caring
I love who you are

You bring a rare magic
To all that you touch
My most precious daughter
I love you so much

You're thoughtful and helpful
To all that you meet
You've beauty of face
And a spirit that's sweet

Throughout your life's journey
May peace with you stay
With love, as I wish you
A Happy Birthday!

ALEX

Just a note to say 'hello'
to my most special friend
I hope that our friendship
will endure and never end
For you're the kind of person
That it's wonderful to know
and our friendship is so treasured
it can surely only grow
Then blossom in the years ahead
So everything we do
Will remind us of these early days
and when I first met you!

A Poem for Roxy

Some days you awake and the whole world seems grey
And no-one has a smile on their face
When problems and troubles like mountains pile high
Then you long for a sweet, special place
Where songbirds are singing and sunshine beams through
And no-one's unhappy or sad
Where everything's peaceful and money don't count
Not a thing there is nasty or bad
There is such a place and it's not far away
And to get there you just make a start
With a smile on your face and with faith, hope and love
You will find that place deep in your heart
For troubles and problems are all part of life
But we're stronger than they are, for sure
Just remember, one day, when the clouds roll away
Peace will come to a heart that is pure!

BRITTANY

In a little town in Maryland
There lives a special girl
With long black hair and deep brown eyes
She's precious as a pearl
Seven years old, she goes to school,
She smiles and laughs all day
At home two dogs and one fine cat
Wait till she comes to play
Living in a trailer is the best fun there can be
It's living close to Nature
Where you feel so fresh and free
To paint a picture all with words
Is writing poetry
A happy, loving, little girl
Is young Miss Brittany!

AT OUR HOUSE

In our house there are two cats
Misty and Calie
With sister Sarah and myself
We're one big family
I love to play, and go to school
I love to watch TV
When I grow up, I'll study hard
A singer I will be
Our home it is a happy one
Where love and peace reside
Good food, good friends and deep content
Throughout the year abide!

DEAR GRANDMA,

So much to do each passing day
Don't seem to get the time to say
All the things there in my heart
How very much I feel a part
Of your love!

So tenderly you care for me
I know that you will always be
There at the end of each long day
Ready to join me as I pray,
With your love!

More precious than the finest gold
To me you never will grow old
More gentle than the patient dove
Your blessed soul is filled with love
A tower of strength when things go wrong
You soothe and comfort with your song
The sweetest smile adorns your face
My pain and sorrow you erase
For all the lovely things you do
Dear Grandma, I now give to you,
All my love!

DAMALI

My name is Damali, I'm twelve years old
It's a really great age to be
Not a young kid, but not quite grown
All the world is there waiting for me

My hobbies are dancing and I play in a band
And I tickle the ivories too!
I go to Youth Fellowship at my Church
'Cos the Lord is important, that's true

Twelve years old, it's a wonderful age
There you get the best of each world
You can act grown-up or you can be a child
Into adult life you're soon hurled

For time races by and before too long
Your own life path you dig and delve
You'll heave a big sigh and remember then
Just how great it was to be twelve!!!

THE GLACIERS

We're cool, we're mean, we're bad!
Our noisy coach is Dad
But he's a real good mate
To our team of eight

There's Bryan, Kev and Bryce
(He dribbles well, he's nice)
and Justin, Whitney too
(sometimes she's feeling blue)
My sister Gina plays
(with her annoying ways)
TJ he shoots with class
And I know when to pass

We're cool, we're hip, we're mean
On basketball we're keen
We practise twice a week
Then Saturday, at peak
    We play.......
          To win.......
We're the Hip Hip Glaciers.............

KASEY

Nothing is softer, or cuter or sweeter
Nothing more naughty, or furry, or fleeter
Nothing will move you from where you are sittin'
Like the teeth and the claws of a mischievous kitten

Nothing is sweeter 'neath stars, sun or moon
Than a nice little girl with a birthday in June
For June girls are special, they have a big part
With all of God's creatures, right there in His heart!

DYLAN

Precious wee infant
Peaceful, content
Each day I give thanks
That to me you were sent
You entered the world
Way too early, you know
You held onto life
And each day now, you grow
I carried you safely
There under my heart
Until you were born
My unique work of art
You're loved and you're wanted
You gurgle with pleasure
Most beautiful baby
You're my greatest treasure!

JAYNE

My name is Jayne, I go to school
I like it there it's really cool
Such a lot we have to learn
Mental energy we burn
Mrs Hopgood's really great
She teaches us how to relate
Our thoughts and feelings at the time
Then write them down in words that rhyme
Choose a subject - off you go
Keep the meter, let it flow
With pen and paper make a start
Let the words come from your heart
Pain or sorrow, joy or mirth
Poetry is love on earth!
I'm eight years old, one day I'll be
A lady who writes poetry!!!

MISS TORI JADE

There's a most important person, a precious little maid

She's only four years old and her name is TORI JADE

Her Mommy's name is TONYA and they are best of friends

'Cos Mommy's very precious too, for her love never ends

TORI JADE goes out to play on trampoline and swings

Then SKYE ANNA comes over and they do girly things

Like dressing up and playing games with all their little toys

Sometimes CHASE and DERRICK call, for they are friendly boys

Tori loves to spend some time with GRANNY and PAPAW

They all have fun together and she's happy where they are

It's magic when you're four years old and friends come in to play

TORI says that she will be a cheerleader one day

God Bless you All, my little friends, I wish you joy and peace

Be good and kind and loving, then the magic will not cease!

HOLLY

Dear Lord,
Before I sleep, to You I pray
Please keep me safe till dawn of day
Bless my Mom and Daddy too
Look after us the whole night through
My brother Greg is very dear
Please keep him safe and free from fear
Protect Aunt Trisha, guard her well
I love the stories she can tell
Of gentle Jesus, meek and mild
I'm Holly, still a little child
Whose heart is filled with warmth and love
For You dear Lord, there up above
So ere I sleep, to you I pray
Protect us all till dawn of day

KATELYN

Katelyn is a lucky girl, her birthday is in June

This lovely little birthday girl will have a sister soon

I am a special pussy cat, I live upon the moon

There is a secret that I know 'bout birthday girls in June

They're always very sweet and nice and love to laugh and chat

How do I know about all this? - Well, I'm a magic cat!

It's fun up here amongst the stars, I sleep and then I play

I'm sending love to Katelyn for a really good birthday

The 21st of June it is, so here's a wish from me

I hope your birthday's wonderful and happy as can be!

JENNIE

Jenny and Julie and Kristen and Jess, Brittany, Danmar and Ashlee as well

Hang round together, they're very good friends, but I've a strange story to tell

They play lots of volleyball most every day, a really incredible team

They giggle and sing and they dance as they play, what happened must seem like a dream!

The day started out like most days had before, these friends were quite fit and loved sport

Then Jenny cried out, and they saw what she saw, in a bright beam of light they were caught

"No need for alarm, you will come to no harm" cried a voice from the source of the light

"We've been watching you play and we need you today, you will all be back home by tonight"

They beamed up to the ship, looking cool, acting hip, but all a bit worried of course

They were offered a drink so they took a small sip, which was served by a large purple horse

"Now we've travelled far from a long-distant star to find an incredible team

Saturn is the site for the big game tonight and the Champions win a moonbeam!

This moonbeam we need for we are poor indeed, it will give us some much needed light"

So Jenny and all of the rest of the gang agreed they would play, it seemed right!

The whistle then blew and the Game it began, a bright orange ostrich strode by

The ball flew at speed, it was hectic indeed, a green hippo started to cry!

The team played their best and they tackled with zest, they sang and they danced as they played

"By jove" cried a lizard, "I think you are WIZARD, you've won but you'll never get paid!!"

In a blink of an eye then they flew through the sky and gently were landed back home

They were all half asleep, but the memory they keep, that is why they requested this poem!

AUNTIE KAREN

(Requested by Stephanie)

She's a very special lady
A real good friend to me
So kind and understanding
She listens patiently
My problems she will sort out
And tell how things have been
She knows that it is difficult
When you are just a teen
She came upon a visit
To see us, back last year
And it was really wonderful
Each day when she was here
I love her and I miss her
And wish that she could be
Always and forever
Living here with me!

Lots of love from Stephanie

DADDY

I'm a daddy's girl
and that's because
I've got the best daddy
That there ever was
A fantastic fellow
With a heart of gold
So loving and caring
He won't grow old
He works very hard
From morn till night
To earn enough money
To keep things right
He's all alone
Hasn't got a wife
But he never complains
Just gets on with life
He did a good job
And he raised me strong
And made a fine home
Where I know I belong
I'm a lucky girl
And I know it too
I love you and appreciate
All that you do!
