Linda

You are more than just a sister, you're my very special friend
For there's laughter and there's courage in your smile
You've a patient understanding and a loving, caring heart
For the folk you know, you make their life worthwhile.

You are more than just a sister, you're an angel in disguise
In adversity you shine just like a star
We all love your gentle spirit and the strength within your soul
For there's love and peace and magic where you are!

We all love you!

Allegra

Hello Allegra Ayida
So far across the sea
I've heard that you like poetry
So here's a rhyme from me

You go to school and like to swim
And play piano too
I hope you study very well
Learn everything that's new

Bawo is your brother
Your best friend is Azeez
Mrs Lawson is your teacher -
Every moment you must seize

The chance to learn and understand
Gain knowledge, write and read
About the world you live in
For knowledge sows the seed

Which grows into a sturdy tree
With branches strong and true
Education brings a better life
It strengthens all you'll do

You're in Lagos in Nigeria
A little five year old
Just starting on the path of Life
Which slowly will unfold

I know that you like poetry
I wonder if, some time
When you have learned a little more
You'll send to me, a rhyme!

A Poem for Ollie

I'm Ollie
And I'm almost nine
I'm in grade three
Any my life's just fine
I hike and I bike
and I like to sing,
Love art and I paint
Make most anything
I live in Goderich
Near The Square
Mum, Dad and Sister Sarah
Live there
We've got a dog
And we've got a cat

We're all very happy
And we're pleased about that
I've got to go
I've got things to do
If you're down this way
Then we'd love to see you!
Have a nice day!

Jacob

A long time ago
When the world was new
There wasn't a lot
To see or do
Families lived
In a big, dark cave
To catch their food
They were very brave
They didn't have windows
There was no door
And the family pet
Was a dinosaur

He was big and scaly
And the noise he'd make
When he walked around
Made the whole earth shake
Today I think
things are better than that
We've got doors and windows
And a family pet cat!

Jillian

Jillian is my cousin
She lives in Jerico
Is soon to be Bat Mitzvahed
The best friend that I know
I'm sure that as we're growing up
The whole, wide world will see
Jillian and Brittany are
The best friends there could be!

MARY BETH

I'm Mary Beth, I'm ten years old
I go to school each day
I roller blade and pet my dog
And then Nintendo, play

Sometimes I just sit down outside
And look at things, and wonder
I see the sky, I see the clouds
Then sometimes I hear thunder

I look at all the lovely trees
So tall and straight and green
As they have grown, there must have been
A million things they've seen

I watch the big, white, fluffy clouds
Drift past across the sky
I wonder are there angels sitting
There, as they float by

At night before I go to bed
I have to have a peep
Out of my window, at the stars
And then I go to sleep

I dream about the sky and stars
The clouds, and each tall tree
And know I am a lucky girl
God put them there for me!

BRYCE AND LANE

I have two sons
They are my pride
Bryce and Lane
They play outside
Where air is fresh
And life is good
and families live
Just like they should
Their Daddy hunts
and loves to fish
Provides for us
A dinner dish
Momma dances
Loves to sing
Takes pleasure from
Most anything
We are a family
Close and strong
In Louisiana
We belong!

TO MY SPECIAL MOM

Five long years ago, in the merry month of May
You gave to me a special gift, and that was my Birth Day
There's much I'd like to say to you, such feeling in my heart
How can a little boy find words, these feelings to impart

I think that I will simply say, you mean the world to me
You're loving and you're caring, you're the best Mom there could be
You hug me and protect me and you keep me safe from harm
There's no place I would rather be than snuggled neath your arm

Your smile is sweet and tender and you fill my life with joy
When I'm naughty, then I'm sorry, but I'm just a little boy
My heart is filled with love for you, I'm happy where you are
And as I grow, from boy to Man, you'll be my guiding star

I LOVE YOU MOM!

A Special Poem for Bethy:

CLOWNS

Clowns are special people
Who live in a magic place
Their home is in the circus
So from town to town they race

Their clothes are bright and colourful
Their feet are really big
And when someone steps on their toes
They dance a jerky jig

They paint their faces red and white
And look so very funny
To see them in the circus
First, you have to pay your money

They run around and trip and fall
Or drive a little car
And everybody's happy
'cos it's fun where e're they are

They love to see the boys and girls
Who all enjoy the fun
For clowns are special people
And they love everyone!
