I Have To Know
by April W.
I have to know if u will ever leave
I have to know if u will ever lie
I have to know I can trust u with my eye
I have to know u are ok
I have to know u are being obeyed
If u do not tell me what I have to know then I will never find u at home
I have to know u will be there for me
I have to know u will always be by my side
If u do not tell me what I have to know then I will never find u alive
As I think so
In conclusion I have to know u are there!!!

Never Again
by April W.
Never again will I step on your feet
Never again will I talk real sweet
Never again will I ask u for a favor
Never again will I ask for some flavor
Never again will I whine so loud
Never again will I cry so soft
Never again will I ask u for a rose
Never again will I ask u for a nose
In conclusion I will never again ask u for anything!!!

From The Heart
by Crystale M.
Age 14
I wrote this poem in an English class at school and it had to be about the refugees.
I'm sad, I'm lonely, I don't know what to do.
I'm confused and frightened,
Bombs are falling, rifles are shooting,
I walk outside to see people bleeding
My home's gone
My family's disappeared
I got put on a bus to go to Australia
There are people crying, people dying
Although you don't know but it really shows
We're in Australia now without a home
Unable to contact the family
Crying day and night
Unable to find out if our family is all right
We hope one day we'll go back to see our family
To build a house for you and me.

If I was in the Circus
by Megan
Age 6
If I was in the circus
I'd be a lion
My name would be Ryan
The people would be bored no more
But would leave when I pooed on the floor

I'd Like to be a Butterfly
by Megan
Age 6
I'd like to be a butterfly flying up
I might get trapped in a cup
and killed by someone
eating a bun.

Blossom
by April
A blossom is a rose of happy times
A blossom is a candy of many kinds
If u you think really hard and hope for the best
You find out who is the best
The best is yet to come
But u will eventually find that special someone
But if they show u a blossom
You will say halluluah
And say I love u so
The best is yet to go
But u will never find it so
Just hope and pray your blossom is still there
So then u will never go there
In conclusion the best is yet to come for you and your blossom

Hockey Hero
by Bobby Whiteside
I used to have a neighbor who played professional hockey for the San Jose Sharks. The kids who lived in the neighborhood started to become interested in hockey, having him all around and all. When I was about six or seven, we started playing roller hockey, in the street. Even though only a few of us were actually wearing roller blades, we still called it roller hockey.
The teams were being picked, and I was already picked to be on the same team as my brother, Andy, who took charge as captain. Having that he told me to be goalie, which when I look back I do not really understand because I did not have much talent, especially in that position at that time. You would think he would trick me by giving me a useless position, but he did not, he gave me a major one. Since I admired my brother so much I did not say anything, I just went to the net.
We were in the middle of a game and our opponents had the puck. I clenched my stick, which happened to have a bright pink blade, and I closed my eyes in fear. Smack! Someone just completed their slap-shot. The worst thing of all was it was coming straight towards me! Somehow I stopped the puck just before it entered the goal.
"Did the puck get in?" I asked to no one in particular.
"No, you just stopped a slap-shot! Awesome Job!" Andy blurted out as an answer.
I felt like I was a hockey hero on that day for many years afterwards. Pride fills me when I think about my brother, the good hockey player he was and still is, telling me, "Awesome job!"

Friends
by Michelle
Age 10
friends are friends
but best friends are better
like you and me will be best friends forever.
nothing will split us apart
we will keep on riding in our special cart
over humps and bumps and pot holes
but we will always find our way
best friends forever and ever

My legs are sore,
My feet are stinging,
My head is hot,

Seasons
by Amy Jennifer
Age 12
White crystals fall gracefully to the ground
Buds are blooming all around
Warm sun rays beam upon me
As the crisp, cool air tickles my nose
I realize which season i love most
All of them.

Me
by Aisha
Age 10
Aisha is my name,
to be a doctor is my aim.
I am tall
and like to play with dolls.
My hobby is to read books,
but not by their looks.
I like to be clean,
but I hate to eat beans.
