THE BROTHERS REDE
This is a tale of the brothers Rede
A couple of busy young fellows indeed
Andrew, eleven's the lead little Rede,
He signs like a bird eating tune thistle seed
Bryan the younger is filled with a hunger
to do and to be half the jobs he can see
He'd be a marine and policeman and more
He's got lots of time he's just two years past four.
A couple of boy scouts from the steaming Simi,
these fellows have dogs name of Onyx and Yogi
and when they're not playing in multiple sports
They're learning to E-mail and writing retorts.
Look out big old world, these two kids are a coming
Their Big Sis Evette is so proud she is humming.
Cause Andrew and Bryan are two special guys
And she knows how they're growing and how the time flies
But when they are grownups and famous and wise
We all know they'll remember their family ties.
ALICIA
Alicia on the sidewalk
or rolling down the lane.
Teasing with her brother Lance
who sure can be a pain.
Splashing in the sunshine
every summer day
Dancing with the music loud's
her favorite way to play.
Alicia and her mom and dad
And even brother too.
They're never bored together
'cause there's just so much to do.
They're all quite proud of Alicia
they love her through and through
And if you knew Alicia
I bet you'd be proud too!
MEGAN
Megan, Megan, seven years old,
Cute as a button, or so I'm told.
Faster than lightning, riding on her bike;
Flying down the road or skating down the pike.
She's as pretty as a model when she dresses like a mom.
All the cutest boys in town want to ask her to a prom!
When she's just a little older then she's going to learn to cheer.
Folks'l come to see her hollering from places far and near.
Megan knows that cheerleaders are always good in school.
Cause they lead by good examples and obey the golden rule.
And when she gets her chance to cheer and make those people shout
The folks will say that Megan is the best cheer girl about.
Three cheers for little Megan, she's a very special kid.
And if she smiled while reading this I'm really glad she did!
COREY
Corey, all the places you will go,
This summer will be wonderful, with baseball in the park.
Games played with your brother and Nintendo after dark.
Smokey's little kitties will grow up and move away.
But you will get to play with them until that parting day.
Some days at Pawpaws farm you'll play, and drive his big old tractor.
You'll laugh cause Papaw has a cow whose such a silly actor.
You'll ride your bike who knows where
and learn new things when you get there.
Third grade is a wonderful year.
You're growing up, that much is clear.
You'll learn new things and make new friends.
At nine discovery never ends.
So Corey, here's to you
And all the great new things you'll do.
And all your friends at baseball
And your sis and brother too.
Keep finding those new places and learning all you can.
I hear that you're a real good boy. You'll be an awesome man.
CASSIE'S RHYME
Cassie is almost five
She must be the busiest girl alive
Whacking baseballs off of Tee's
Running bases with such ease.
She's a dynamo just learning how to play.
Roo, roo roooofiing with scooby doo
Winning games on Nintendo too.
She likes swimming in the sun
Keeping Peppy on the run
And planting seeds with mamaw on the farm
She's as happy as can be
But it's also plain to see
She could do without those bug bites
that itch and keep her up nights.
But those things will stop when she's a little older
And though a lots of things distract her
soon she'll get to steer the tractor.
So Cassie here's to you
and all the busy things you do.
I know you make your mom and daddy proud.
SANIYA
Saniya Saniya plays in the sun
laughing brown eyes and a heart full of fun
In Dubia Gem she studies all day.
But when school is done she's ready to play.
When she smiles in the morning we all want to say,
What mischief is Saniya up to today?
She's sweet and she's naughty, and running all day
And we don't mind at all, cause we love her that way.
